Your wellbeing, our focus

Learning how to slow down, find your midline and deepen into stillness.

The focus of our 1-week retreat will be learning how to slow down, find your midline, deepen into stillness and develop a greater sense of well-being and safety.

We strongly recommend that you make a complimentary pre-retreat appointment with Michael. This short 15 to 20 min conversation will help us assess your specific needs and determine if the week-long retreat will be beneficial for you.

Our Approach

A whole-person approach to tinnitus support

Our integrated methodology brings together medical, practical and therapeutic holding for the physical, emotional and nervous-system factors that influence tinnitus.

Medical support

You will receive practical medical advice, an ENT examination with detailed analysis of your tinnitus subtype(s) and a pre- and post-retreat assessment.

Practical tools

Exercises help you view your situation from different angles and introduce techniques to help you shift the focus of your attention, relax, and enhance your awareness.

Therapeutic support

The retreat includes craniosacral therapy sessions, physical awareness exercises and sound therapy experiences, to name a few of the elements.

Experience

Stillness, introspection and reflection...

...form one pillar of the journey of discovery that we take you on. Find out what causes your symptoms and what triggers them; and start to realise that you are the key that unlocks the door that leads you down a new path to recovery.

You will have individual consultations with each one of us, group sessions and leisure time to integrate new skills, techniques and insights. Daily practice of certain techniques will help make them part of your routine and serve as an anchor when you return home.

This retreat is all about you and your personal journey, which is why we work with small groups of only 12 participants. To get the full benefit of the retreat, we encourage you to come on your own. Your partner or a friend may join you only if you need extra support. Otherwise, they are welcome to join you to explore the island before or after the retreat.

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding

...and come to realise that your tinnitus is the Grit in the Oyster which will ultimately turn into an amazing pearl.

Our Destination

Sardinia, where the past meets the present.

Cormoran Villasimius and the Sardinian coastline
Secluded sandy beach
Nourishing local setting
Rooms and serene spaces
Intimate group of 12

Our preferred partner hotel is the 4-star Cormoran Villasimius, located just a 1-hour drive from Cagliari, the southernmost international airport of the island. Nestled between rocky hills, the property features a secluded sandy beach, allowing us to incorporate the soothing properties of the sea into our treatments.

To ensure peace and quiet, we organise our retreats outside the main season.

Sardinians are known for their warm hospitality, vibrant music, colorful festivals, and intricate handicrafts. The island's culinary delights highlight local ingredients and ancient recipes. Sardinia, where the past meets the present, provides the perfect setting for a retreat that nourishes both body and soul.

Sardinia, an island of unparalleled beauty and tranquility, offers a unique escape from the hustle and bustle of the world. Free from volcanic activity, it provides a profound sense of stability and safety. Rich in history, the island is a treasure chest for archaeologists and anthropologists, with its Nuragic towers, houses, walls and Giants' graves dating back to 3,000-4,000 B.C., grounding it in a deep connection to the earth. Its cultural heritage is equally unique, with ancient civilisations such as the Egyptians, Phoenicians, Punics, Romans and Carthaginians all leaving their mark on the island.

Before you book

Pre-retreat checklist

Please review the current practical requirements before signing up.

To ensure you get the most out of the retreat, please read the following checklist carefully and only sign up if you can answer "YES" to all:

  • I am fit to travel alone by air or train, and noise will not cause me so much stress that it negatively impacts my retreat experience.
  • I can make my own travel arrangements and handle staying in a foreign country for a week without support.
  • I feel up for participating in a group where we share feelings openly and where deeper emotions may arise.

Please also complete our "Tinnitus Functional Index" questionnaire, to assess how much you are struggling with tinnitus and submit this to us at: here, at info@tinnitushealingretreat.com

  • Please ensure you meet all the requirements for entering Italy by checking the current information on your local foreign office's website or EU entry regulations.
  • Please bring some cash in euros, as local taxis may not accept card payments.
  • Please bring leisure clothing, a bathing suit/trunks and adequate sun protection, as we will have outdoor activities and hold some of the classes on the beach or in the sea (weather permitting).
  • The weather is usually pleasant at this time of year, but we recommend bringing some sweaters and/or a light jacket for the evenings.
What our guests say

Testimonials

My expectations were to get to know the most reputed tinnitus expert in the world and get clear answers as to the conditions and how to effectively work on the same in order to heal. The experience matched with what I was expecting.

The three of you perfectly complement one another and build on a foundation meant to calm and give hope to tinnitus sufferers, all uniquely in your own disciplines.

I remain a member of Quieten and I diligently perform some of the activities on a daily basis which are shown. I've had tremendous success in relaxing the muscles that were triggering so much of my tinnitus. Most days of the week I do not even think to check whether or not there's any buzzing going on.

I learned about the cause and management of tinnitus. This was a great comfort.

[...] with all this knowledge you are aware that there is a way out of this condition.

I was able to concentrate and also to relax.

The poems I appreciated. I think they were well chosen. They expressed the feelings of many tinnitus people well, and reading them together was healing and contributed to the community feeling.

Regarding the exercise with the stone... [...] my guess is that the idea of there being many different ways to look at the stone, can also be applied to tinnitus.

Personally, I found the poems and writings really powerful and they deepened the work by bringing art, beauty, wisdom and timeless lessons from life into the space. And involving the group in reading them is a great idea.

Accompanied by a group of people helped immensely...you could feel the collective energy. Found some inner peace.

I thought the retreat was wonderful. You guys did a great job. It gave me a chance to get out of my box and slow down.

I've been using the app since last October and follow Julian's movements faithfully. At bedtime, I often listen to the 'clench and relax' audio, very helpful.
